UM3 Printhead Hits X Limit Switch but Moves Slightly Beyond It and Crashes

When the printhead on my Ultimaker 3 is homing the x position, it hits the x limit switch but goes slightly beyond it and crashes into the housing.  It then vibrates before moving away from the wall.  Is there a fix or calibration that can solve this?  I just did a factory reset by plugging a microSD card into my Olimex board (because of a frozen screen).  Before this, the crashing would happen every now and then but now it is happening every time I try to load a new material for example.  When the printhead moves directly toward the corner and hits the switches, there is no problem, but when it tries to home x before y it often crashes.  When the printhead is at the home position and moves away from it in y, it eventually crashes into the side wall.  I'm not sure if this could also be some kind of alignment issue.
