Print Core Not Recognized and Not Removable

During a print the print came off the bed and all of the filament became jammed around the print core. After the removal of this jam, the print core is no longer recognized by the printer (it may have been damaged by the jam or during the removal). Now it is impossible to remove the print core because the printer says that there isn’t one. What should be done now?

First check if the pads on the printcore pcb are not damaged and if the contacts on the printhead pcb are also not damaged. the printcore might nog be recognized because something bent while it was jammed or during removal.

it might help if you post some pictures of the printcore and printhead and printhead pcb so we could take a good look at it.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
