Arrange Models is not aligning models to reduce print time

I am using Cura 4.4 and I noticed that if you use Arrange models to align models on the bed plate it tends to not align them horizontally and more vertically. This sometimes causes models that would otherwise fit on the bed plate with no problems to be pushed off the edge. Is there a way to change this? This also affects the alignment when you duplicate models. If the mid points of duplicate models were aligned then everything would fit. Trying to manually align 2 models is a pain. I checked this behavior versus S3D 4.1.2 and PrusaSlicer 2.1 and when you duplicate models they are aligned next to each other and you can use 'Center and Arrange Models' and models will line up next to each other.

There are no settings in Cura to mofify the behaviour, but you are right, it could be better.

In fact it doesn't matter if the parts are clearly aligned or not, so I just place them on the bed and don't care about any alignment.

The alignment is pretty naive. It takes the biggest object and puts that in the center. From that point on it tries to find a spot (any spot) for the remaining models. It doesn't try to rotate them.
