I can't seem to find any info on these lines i'm getting on my prints. They occur wether i'm using PLA or wood filaments. Must be a setting that is off somewhere in the code. Why can't it just make full circles all the way around instead of stopping and changing direction?

This is the z-seam and is the start/end of your layer. With a round object it is hard to hide the seam, so you will always see it, but you can set to random to spread it over your object or set it to a fixed position if you want to sand if off in postprocessing.

 

You can try to play with the coasting setting, which stops extruding near the end of the layer to take out the preasure so it will not overextruding at the layer switch. But you have to play wth the settings otherwise you get a hole there.

Thx. I have been sanding them off but would be nice to eliminate that step

You can also turn off "compensating wall overlaps" to minimize the seam line. Instead of creating a 'bump' on each layer surface, it will create a smaller and less noticable dent.
