Pause at height resume to low

Hey everyone. I have an ender 3 pro with a BLtouch.   I have been using the pause at height to do a filament change.   For the most part I have had decent success, but everyone and a while I am having an issue where after I change the filament I press. The button to continue the print it will extrude to clean the tip out and move over to the piece and move down but does not stop at proper height it will drive the hot end in the piece and try and print.   I leave the steppers locked (setting "0") as far as I can tell it's not moving while it waits for me or when I do the change.    Any ideas what I can do to fix this.  It's very frustrating as well as the fact I lost the filament change option when I updated to the BL touch.

Thanks
