Hi all,

I have  Creality Ender 3 which has got a twin extruder and twin hot end IDEX system fitted.

I have seen a version of cura :

https://www.bcn3d.com/bcn3d-cura/

which would work I think on this system.  Only problem is that you can not change any of the settings to accept a new printer.  Is there a way to open this software to add new printers, or could the functions in this version be copied to the general release version that we are all using.

my main reason. For asking is that I would like to be able to print 2 colour files using both extruders.  On normal cura you can use a extension, where you can change the filament manually, but I would like to be able to start a print in one colour and change colour at a certain layer, without stopping the print. Like pic below,  start base in one colour then change at the text.

    Hi

You are asking in the wrong forum, because Ultimaker don't maintain or support the BCN3D Cura version. So best you ask them or in their forum if they have one.

Thanks for the information. If I cant get info on the software, would you know a way of printing that file using the IDEX system.

They have made some modifications to Cura in order to support the IDEX system. They have done this in a rather hackish way, so this was never back ported to Ultimaker Cura.

It should be possible to create your own files to add to their version of Cura. I do know you need an older version of the files that UM Cura uses, since their versions is pretty outdated (I think they based it off Cura 3.2)
