Any way to control orientation and spacing with Arrange All and Cura 4.8?

I appreciate the recent changes in Cura that allow more efficient use of the build plate space when arranging multiple items. But I'm wondering if there is any way to specify limits on the spacing and angular re-orientation applied when doing an Arrange All.

I ask because some of the items I print are small and thin (< 15 x 15 x 1.5mm) with even smaller features. Being able to spread them a little further apart would make it less likely that one part coming loose from the bed would take the whole array with it. And keeping the orientation fixed could simplify the process of removing them from the print bed, since my part happens to have one side that is much better for pushing/prying against for removal from the bed than the other sides.

I know I can still manually arrange the components instead of using auto-arrange, but that gets very tedious for an array of 100 on a build plate.

If there aren't ways to specify a minimum spacing and orientation lock for auto arrange, it would be nice if they could be added in a new version.

Yes, I would like to add to this that I also like to have 100% freedom how to arrange parts on the buildplate.

There are many reasons to do so esspecially for small parts.

The interface is really not friendly to use on this subject.

I wan to arrange a nr of small bolds in a line from left to right at the front of the build plate.

I do not get any simple option to to do this, at least I can;t figure it out  !

It's very weird to me that they even released an implementation of Arrange All Models without a user configurable gap/spacing. It seems incomplete. What's the use of arranging all the models if I have to move them after since they're all too close or too far?

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
