Custom UM1 firmware with Cura 13.12?

I added a heated bed to my UM1 and used Ginge's Marlin Builder to generate custom firmware for it. I noticed that Cura 13.12 includes a new UM1 firmware.

Does this version of Cura require the firmware update? If so, has the firmware source been released yet?

No, Cura versions are generally not tied to any particular release of the firmware - especially for the UM1. The new version in Cura is just updating to something closer to the current head of the Erik van der Zalm master repository, which is what the builder website is using anyway. So you can keep using the custom version without issues.

As Illuminarti said, this update was mostly to get in line and get all the updates from the last year that where done on Marlin. (We did change the Controller-Beep back to the older one)

Cura works on just about any firmware. So no problems there.
