Posted · Can't load retraction settings from material settings

Hi all,

I've been hitting my head against the wall trying to figure out how to get Cura 4.8 to load retraction settings from the material profile instead of the quality profile.

I get that the stack will default to values in the quality profile if there are any there, and I seem to have no trouble using temperature settings from the material profile. But no matter what I do--even manually deleting any retraction entries from the .profile file--Cura keeps adding and using retraction distance and speed values for the quality profile and ignoring those in the material profile.

Is there any way to use material retraction values? Am I missing something? Is the functionality not actually there?

Thank you!
