Printcore 2 mechanical Problem

Hey guys I'm new to the forum, so hopefully this goes to the right place.

I have a problem that when I come into the office in the morning a 16hrs print of multiple components is destroyed basically.

The glass plate has shifted during the print and each part is obviously no longer complete, I am printing with only core 1 Black tough PLA.

What I notice is that Print core 2 is down, and the silicone rubber is pulled half off

This would also expalin why the glass plate has shifted, as the print core 2 would have caught onto a part while moving

Can some explain to me how this is possible as the head doesnt go back up to lower print core 2 during the printing process.

Cheers Peter

    Some guesswork:

Was the print finished at this time or still running?

I ask because printcore 2 will always be switched (back) down after a gcode file is finished.

If the program was still running... i dunno.

If you have pictures - just share. Usually this leads to more detailed answers from the community here.

It sounds like one or more parts came loose from the buildplate at some time mid-print. Everything else may simply be a consequence of this. Always take sure that there is an excellent adhesion of all printed parts to the buildplate if the printer is meant to work unattended.

    It depends... 🙂

For official support: always contact your reseller first. That's the way official Ultimaker support is organized (AFAIK).

If you're looking for additional opinions, suggestions, discussions and tips from/with other users of Ultimaker products - this forum is the right place for you.

If in doubt... do both! 🙂
