Unable to create custom materials after updating to Cura 4.9

Hi. I might be in the wrong section but I can't find anyone with this problem elsewhere.

After upgrading from Cura 4.6 to 4.9 I can't create and use my own custom material profiles as I had been doing for the past several months.

The first image it shows the generic TPU95a profile which can be used for printing TPU but when I choose my custom material (image 2) that I've created it says it is not supported and I can't do anything to get it to work unless I choose a default material that comes installed on Cura.

has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? I'd prefer not to re-install 4.6 but at this rate I will be.

Cheers
