Anybody have success with the material handler?  I was about to buy the S5 pro bundle, but talked with a colleague that said NOT to get the material handler because they had nothing but problems.

Appreciate any advice out there!

Thanks!

    Hello

If you had asked me that last year. I would have also said the material station is a problem.
The material station was beta for a long time and I was also one of the involuntary testers.

In the meantime, the material station runs stable.

However, I do not recommend Materialstation to everyone without reservation. With Materialstation, initial application and printer errors are more difficult to find out.

Therefore S5 and AM buy and later the MS. Or just buy everything and put the material station into operation later. (Only my opinion)

    Many greetings

Thank you for that... I suspected that there may have been a beta and newer versions released that worked better.

Besides that, it sounds like there are some issues during setup with the S5?

Theoretically, there are no problems with the setup of the S5.

However, the S5 is ultimately just a 3D printer. Users who are completely new to the subject are sometimes a bit overwhelmed.

You can print great stuff with the S5. With the material station you can save setup and printing time.

Provided that the user has some experience.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
