Just a beginer in 3D printing....

I just bought a creality ender 3 Pro and tried to install Cura on my iMAC.

Last version of CURA is not compatible with my software which is 10.13.

Is it possible to get a previous version of CURA and where can I get it ?

Thanks for your help.

Hello Community! I work with an iMac under OS X 10.13.6 (High Sierra, supports both 32 and 64 bit applications) because I have several pieces of hardware and applications that do not run on OS X after v10.13. Upgrading would mean for me, that I have to invest more than 1'000 € in software upgrades and new hardware.

Development of CURA seems to go in the direction that does no longer supports OS X 10.13. Is there any chance that a newer version than 4.10.0 of CURA will come for OS X 10.13?

What are the new functions that we don't have, that are in later versions of CURA?

OS X 10.13 is from 2017/18 and that is like "allmost new" for Mac users :-).

    Thanks for your help.

no that will not come, you can only use the laters version of Cura which is still running on High Sierra. Cura depends on some underlying libraries and these libraries are mostly also not compatible with such an old OS.

Regarding new functions, check the release notes to get a list of new features after 4.10.0.

I think you will have not much alternatives than upgrading your OS in the near future. High Sierra is quite old, and 4 major relates behind the current one. So you will also see problems with other software, except the ones you have currently installed.

    Definitely not 🙂

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features
Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.

      • Ultimaker Cura 5.6 stable released
Cura now supports Method series printers!
A year after the merger of Ultimaker and MakerBotQQ, we have unlocked the ability for users of our Method series printers to slice files using UltiMaker Cura. As of this release, users can find profiles for our Method and Method XL printers, as well as material profiles for ABS-R, ABS-CF, and RapidRinse. Meaning it’s now possible to use either Cura or the existing cloud-slicing software CloudPrint when printing with these printers or materials
