Printing bottom layer in molds

I'm trying to print objects in mold mode using Cura 4.12 and 4.13 beta. I need a base layer to hold everything together, but can't seem to find a way to include the bottom layer. I understand why this may not be possible, but I'm really hoping there's a setting I may have simply overlooked to make this happen. Thanks!

Have you tried disabling the "Automatically Drop Models to Build Plate" setting (in General Settings) and then moving the model up off the build plate by 5mm or so?

That's an option I overlooked. Unfortunately this option didn't work either, even when adding supports.

 

For this project I added a 2mm grid to the bottom of the model, which kind of gave me what I was looking for. But I'll keep testing and hopefully find an easier way to do this. Thanks!
