Hi folks...

I just ordered my Ultimaker2 and can’t wait for it to be delivered.

I’m a complete newcomer to the theme 3d printing. and am curious what to expect with such an ingenious device.

Some facts about me... I am 27 and work in a relatively down to earth and respectable profession with all its policies and - if possible - solid processes.

I've wondered a long time what hobby suits me and what I could really enjoy myself and break a little from this "professional" world and do something creative.

...besides the little bit of fitness which I operate, so that the working life doesn’t lead to a completely lazy bones ;-)

I hope to find a lot of people who are just as enthusiastic in creating something own and share it with the world.

Enough about me ...

Let's be creativ and create things;-)

Oh wait.... The printer's still not even on its way ... =(

I wish you a nice evening ;-)

Sven

    Moin Moin :-)

Welcome to the forum Sven !

As the guys said above.... the ultimaker2 is a cracking good 3d printer.. you just need to sit down and see what amazing things you want or need to 3d print ? are there things in your home that are broken... print new ones !! ;-)

or do you have a nice motorbike with small parts missing.. print...

or did you ever imagine building a new home with 3 swimming pools.. make a 3d model and print it...

start simple.. print and that will drive you crazy to make more stuff....

if you dont have to much experience with 3d modelling, pick something simple and free like google sketchup.

and start putting together simple things...

Have fun in NRW !!..... i absolutly love those amazing NRW police advert videos !! ;-) LOL

    Schone Grusse aus Leipzig.

    Ian :-)

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
