Printing on another plate

I have an Ultimaker S3, and I am trying to figure if I can print my part on another plate, such as a piece of glass. To be more specific, I want to print my part on a piece of glass, by placing the glass on the printing substrate. I used tape to fix the glass on the substrate, but the nozzle still started from the printing substrate and the bottom part of the structure was missed. I am wondering if anyone has tried the similar things so that can give me som suggestions.
