Cura 5.1 Pause at Height

Been trying to do more dual colors in my prints and having a hard time with this pause at height script.

So if i tell it to stop at a certain layer it works fine, no issues.

If i try to stop it at a certain height say, 2mm, its stops way to early. I looked in the gcode and im printing at a .2 layer height, but it stops on layer 7.

;TYPE:CUSTOM
;added code by post processing
;script: PauseAtHeight.py
;current z: 2
;current height: 2.0
M83 ; switch to relative E values for any needed retraction
G1 F300 Z3 ; move up a millimeter to get out of the way
G1 F9000 X190 Y190
G1 F300 Z15 ; too close to bed--move to at least 15mm
M104 S0 ; standby temperature
M0 ; Do the actual pause
M109 S210 ; resume temperature
G1 F300 Z2
G1 F9000 X47.535 Y199.399
G1 F300 Z2 ; move back down to resume height
G1 F3000 ; restore extrusion feedrate
M82 ; switch back to absolute E values
G92 E469.3977
;LAYER:8

So i cant really figure out why it thinks its at 2mm when its only done 7 layers at .2 height a layer. Any ideas

My guess is that you have Z-Hops enabled at 0.2 hop-height.

When using "By Height" the plugin (per your example) looks for the first instance of Z=2.  If Z-Hops are enabled then the Z-Hop move is the first Z=2 and at .2 hop height the first instance occurs if there is a retraction at the end of gcode Layer:7.  It's a known glitch.

Another glitch is when using Adaptive layers because there might not be an exact height that you enter because adaptive layering fudges the layer heights.

"By Layer" works as expected in spite of Z hops or adaptive layers.

    Hey Travis3d,

when you do set it up to pause at layer height,  when you would restart the print does it go back over the print and extrude out filament?  I can't seem to fix this issue ever since 5.0.  any thing before that would extrude a little bit out and then move over to the print and resume printing
