Posted · Update to Cura 5.1 from 4.1x

Hi, sorry for asking but I am a newby:
I have Cura 4.11 installed. How to update now to 5.1? Do I first have to uninstall? If not, will I have two versions running after installing the new download: Ultimaker-Cura-5.1.0-win64.exe? My last downloaded installation file was: Ultimaker_Cura-4.11.0-amd64.exe, the new one is now called Ultimaker-Cura-5.1.0-win64.exe  -  is this really the correct file now?

Thank you for your help!

    Hey @FMe,

Welcome to the Ultimaker community. 🎉

If you want, you can have two version installed next to eachother on your device.
If you prefer to completely upgrade, you can just click on your .exe and it will ask you if you want to uninstall your files during the installation flow.  (don't worry about the name, it's just a naming convention that changed)

As long as you downloaded it from a trustfull source (https://ultimaker.com/software/ultimaker-cura) I believe you have the right one.

Good luck with installing and happy printing!
