MariMakes's post in cartridge heater en pt100 um2 was marked as the answer
Hey @Vima81,

Succes 💪

MariMakes's post in ISSUE SOLVED was marked as the answer
HI @remicourtillon,
Welcome to the UltiMaker Community 🎉
Changes like these on your profile might take some time to show up sometimes because they are dependent on the cache. The next time you encounter this you can try a hard refresh by refreshing with Ctrl Shift R.
Right now searches that don't exactly match what you are looking for don't show up, that's something we hope to improve soon.
Good to hear your issue has been resolved, Happy printing!

MariMakes's post in Ultimaker Cura 5.5 beta Crash was marked as the answer
Ah! Then it might be: https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues/16941
The proposed fix is a band-aid, but since we've had multiple reports it might be worth taking another look.
Thanks for the updates 💪

MariMakes's post in Elegoo Post Processing troubleshoot was marked as the answer
Hey @JighIV,
I noticed that displaying information on your LCD needs to be supported with your printer's firmware.
You can test this by manually adding an M117 into your gcode.
You can find more information about it here: https://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/M117.html
Good luck!

MariMakes's post in Printer gets #2 appended to the name was marked as the answer
Hey @BastelWastel,
I brought your question up with the team.
They pointed out that this is probably because the "name" and the filename are EXACTLY the same.
Your issue should be resolved if you slightly alter one of the two.
For example, rename your file to Eloprinter_Max.def.json
Can you let us know if this worked for you?

MariMakes's post in I have "inside to outside" enabled in Cura but the print order its giving me is inside, outside, then inside. See pic. Anyone know why? was marked as the answer
Hey @Jhawk6553,
I also wasn't really sure what was happing in your print so I showed it to the team.
They referred me to the description of the Wall Ordering Setting:
"Determines the order in which walls are printed. Printing outer walls earlier helps with dimensional accuracy, as faults from inner walls cannot propagate to the outside. However printing them later allows them to stack better when overhangs are printed. When there is an uneven amount of total innner walls, the 'center last line' is always printed last.",
What you are seeing, is the Center Last Line, which is always printed last.
I think that it's an odd wall, so if it's heavily impacting your print quality you can try to change the Minimum Odd Wall Line Width.

MariMakes's post in Add machine prefix to job name - Not changing when I rename printer was marked as the answer
Hey @mbliesner,
Welcome to the Ultimaker Community 🎉
It doesn't look like a bug to me, it looks like expected behavior.
If you install the Printjob Naming Plug-in you can have the following things automatically added to your machine prefix.
{printer_name}, {printer_name_full}, {printer_type}, {printer_type_full}, {layer_height}, {machine_nozzle_size}, {infill_sparse_density}, {speed_print}, {material_flow}, {profile_name}, {profile_name_full}, {material_name}, {material_name_full}, {material_type}, {material_type_full}, {material_weight}, {print_time_hours}, {print_time_minutes}, {date_iso}, {date_year}, {date_month}, {date_day}, {time_iso}, {time_hour}, {time_minutes}
You can download it here: https://marketplace.ultimaker.com/app/cura/plugins/fieldofview/CustomJobPrefix
Is that the type of information you are looking for?

MariMakes's post in Missing plug-ins - The given author does not exist. was marked as the answer
Hey @KWDesign,
Welcome to the Ultimaker Community 🎉
You might have a software subscription linked to your account, that only shows you verified plug-ins.
Plug-ins that have been checked for security flaws by an external party.
Don't tell your IT admin, but you can still download the plug-ins by logging out, installing them, and logging in again.
Does that help you get unstuck?
If that's not it, do you mind sharing some screenshots of what you are encountering?

MariMakes's post in My Ultimaker s3 won't extrude was marked as the answer
Hey @azscs,
Welcome to the Ultimaker Community 🎉
A picture of a video might help here
I have a bunch of things you can try.
1. Check if your filament is 2.85 instead of 1.75
2. Perform a print core cleaning procedure
3. Check if your extruder lever at the back is moved down
4. Check if the extruder tension is correct
5. Make sure that your filament is dry enough to print
6. Check your filament if you don't have any grinding
7. Check your feeder if there is nothing stuck in the filament.

MariMakes's post in Why is not thin walls activated to begin with ? was marked as the answer
Hey @Mcudnic,
Welcome to the Ultimaker Community 🎉
I also really like the Print Thin Walls setting! 🤩
With the introduction of the Variable Line Width Engine in Cura 5.0 and higher, it's actually disabled by Default.
You can learn more about these changes and the way it makes it easier to print tiny details here:
https://ultimaker.com/learn/ultimaker-cura-5-0-stable-release
If you want to learn more about the settings that were introduced here:
https://support.ultimaker.com/hc/en-us/articles/4792077687068
Long story short, if you can, I would definitely upgrade your Cura to the latest version.
You can download it here: https://ultimaker.com/software/ultimaker-cura

MariMakes's post in Mac Cura 5.2.2 won't launch was marked as the answer
Hey @electblu,
Welcome to the Ultimaker Community 🎉
Cura 5.2 supports Mac OSX 11 Big Sur or higher.
This is because the tools that we use to create Cura builds no longer support these versions of Mac OSx.
You can learn more about which version is compatible with your OS here
https://support.makerbot.com/s/article/1667337917781
Sorry for the inconvenience

Hey @Lars72,
Welcome to the UltiMaker Community 🎉
You can also use our printers completely offline by using the USB. You would have to visit the website regularly to retrieve the latest version of the firmware, but we have plenty of people using our printers these way.

MariMakes's post in Cura Backup and Recovery was marked as the answer
Hey @3D_RedPlanet,
What the Back-up plug-in does is create a copy of your configuration folder and load it when requested.
You can do the same without the back-up plugin!
Go to Help at the top bar of Cura Select Show Configuration Folder Select all the folders in there and create a zip OR go up a folder in your folder structure and zip your folder with the correct Cura version Load the zip folder on an USB Open the Cura configuration folder on your new computer Load the contents of your zip folder on the new computer That is a method I use for troubleshooting other people, when I need to make sure I have the same plug-ins, materials and profiles loaded.
This is what you will be moving over:
Hope this helps 😊

MariMakes's post in Drop down model question was marked as the answer
Hey @CinzasR,
Welcome to the Ultimaker Community 🎉
Are you loading an STL or a .3mf? 3mfs often have their position in space saved.
The lighter color is often an indication that it matches the buidplate exactly.
How did you learn that the file is cut by 0.29 mm?
Do you have a project file for us? It contains the printer and settings we need for troubleshooting.
To save a project file go to File -> Save project.

MariMakes's post in Cura 5.2.1. Precision placement of seperate models. was marked as the answer
Hey @printnewb,
There is a special button for that in Cura!
If you select both models | Right Click | Merge Models.
If you exported your models correctly, which you did, they will remember the position they had in CAD.
If this wouldn't have worked you can doublecheck your preferences.
Preferences | Configure Cura.
There is two boxes to you can uncheck
Keep models apart Automatically drop models to the buildplate
Hope this helps 😊

MariMakes's post in Geeetech Thunder 3d Printer Profile in Cura Mac OS was marked as the answer
I had another colleague with a Mac device look at it and we made it work with the following workflow.
Apparently there is a secret folder in Mac that you need to open by typing a command in the Terminal.
1. Open Terminal
2. Type or copy paste
open ~/Library/Application\ Support/cura 3. Open 5.2 folder
4. For every folder copy the contents from the Zip into the folder with the corresponding name from this zip Geetech (2) (1).zip
Hope this works. 🤞
Also a little birdy told me that hopefully you only need to wait a week for a 5.3 Beta. 🤐😉

MariMakes's post in Cookie cutter walls have gaps! Help was marked as the answer
Hey @Rachel009,
Thanks for sharing your file.
It was indeed the one I was looking for.
It seems that you had an unfortunetly placed Zseam.
If you change the Zseam Alignment to Shortest and the Seam Corner Preference to Hide or Expose Seam the chance of a broken line is waaaaay smaller.
Some additional changes you can consider are:
Wall Transitioning Threshold Angle to 50, to remove the dot of filament in your wedge
Wall Ordering from Outside to Inside, that's often more favorable.
Retract Distance to a lower value, it might cause some stringing but there is a significant chance that you have a proper flow to start the new layer.
Hope this helps! Good luck with your cookies 🍪

MariMakes's post in error installing ultimaker cura 5.2.1 on windows 10 was marked as the answer
Hey @ram110620112,
Two things you can try jump to mind:
1. Can you check C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Ultimaker Cura and see if you have any old installations of Cura that might not be completely removed?
2. A more extreme way is to do a clean install. WARNING: You will lose your printers, and profiles if you do this. You can find instructions how to do that here: https://support.makerbot.com/s/article/1667337567843

MariMakes's post in Vase mode using multi color filament. was marked as the answer
Hey @ribuks,
Welcome to the Ultimaker Community 🎉
That's such a cool model for this filament.
Your issue reminds me of
It seems to be a bug introduced in Cura 5.x.
We've added a ticket to the backlog with the intent to improve this but untill than it might be better to switch back to Cura 4.13 and doublecheck if it's resolved there.
You can get previous versions of Cura here: https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/releases

MariMakes's post in Changing the Infill and wall density at height was marked as the answer
Hey @rickyg32,
This specific application is one I struggle with aswell but I think I ended up getting what you are looking for:
These are the steps I've done
1. Add Mesh and make it overlap with all of the top layers.
2. Make it a cutting mesh
3. Define Bottom Layer 0 in the cutting mesh
4. Define Top Layers 0 in the "normal model"
5. Alter the Wall Line Count, Infill Density and in this case also the infill pattern to make it extra clear.
Was that what you were looking for?
You can also attempt the "beefing up" without a cutting mesh.
Just increasing the Extra Skin Wall Count and Skin Edge Support layers.

MariMakes's post in Export files with the profile name in the filename? was marked as the answer
Hey @echan42,
Welcome to the Ultimaker Community 🎉
There is a plug-in where you can define a number of details that will be put in the printjob name.
Things like "{printer_name}, {printer_name_full}, {printer_type}, {printer_type_full}, {layer_height}, {machine_nozzle_size}, {infill_sparse_density}, {speed_print}, {material_flow}, {profile_name}, {profile_name_full}, {material_name}, {material_name_full}, {material_type}, {material_type_full}, {material_weight}, {print_time_hours}, {print_time_minutes}, {date_iso}, {date_year}, {date_month}, {date_day}, {time_iso}, {time_hour}, {time_minutes}
It's called the Printjob Naming plug-in and it's created by our lovely community member @fieldOfView
You can get it here: https://marketplace.ultimaker.com/app/cura/plugins/fieldofview/CustomJobPrefix
