How can I raise a model above the print bed so more support is below it?

I have a model which is curved (think of it like a curved dinner plate) and the bottom rests on the print bed and the sides slowly raise up.

If I print with supports (which are needed) removing the supports near the center is a real pain because they are so short.

Can I force the model to be moved upwards?  So the actual model doesn't start until say 30mm off the print bed and the supports are now big enough they can be easily removed?

    Hey @iguanaman,

Welcome to the Ultimaker Cura Github 🚀

You can change a setting in your preferences that will prevent the model from dropping to the buildplate.
I use it to resolve similar problems.

I hope this helps, good luck with the plate. 😊
