Connection of S5

Posted · Connection of S5

I have a S5, the wifi was removed at the factory. IT wont let us network them so we connect using out network card and this requires us to disconnected from the network to print. Does anyone know if it would be possible to attach a Ethernet to USB adapter to the printer and then connect to the computer with USB?

Probably printing via an USB flash stick would be the simplest solution here 🤔

Yea that is the problem i can plug anything into my desktop without their approval. So there is no way to get the files on a flash stick. Looks like we may be stuck pluging in and unpluging.

Assuming you meant you can't plug anything into your desktop without their approval, how would that USB to Ethernet adapter work?

It should work though. Connect the USB adapter to your computer and the ethernet cable to your printer and your computer should get a second network interface that can only "talk" to the printer. And the printer can only talk to your computer, not to the internet (unless you set up "network sharing" on your desktop, which I am sure IT will not let you).
