Yeah, looking closely at the picture it doesn't look like it wiped its nose in the usual location (slightly in from the edge), it looks like it did it on the very edge.
Are there any clunking noises or anything that sounds like the print head or the bed trying to move further than it can?
@obewan has got it I think.
Open one of those new Gcode files in a text editor. At the very beginning will be a set of lines that describe the area of the build plate that is used.

There should be NO NEGATIVE VALUES in the list. If they are then Obewan nailed it.
Related to that is the "Home Offset" position set in the printer. Changing the PID allowed access to manually change the Home Offsets. Resetting the printer to defaults with M502 should have fixed that.

This is really more of a printer problem than a Cura problem. Have you tried doing a factory reset in the printer's settings? Flashing firmware often won't change the saved settings.
