Hello,

anyone here can be so kind to give a few details about some pieces of the ultimaker?

i was interested in finding out the specifics of 4 parts:

-the threaded bar for the z axis it's a simple m8? if so.... m8x1 or 1.25?...or it is a ball screw?

-what about the thermocouple and thermocouple board and heather?

i tried looking around quite a bit but i failed to find any details

thanks for taking the time to read this... and i must apologise for my terrible english

The z-axis is a 12mm diameter 3mm pitch acme rod (12 X 3 METRIC ISO TRAPEZOIDAL LEAD SCREW)

The TC is a custom thermocouple, I believe it's a k-type. The TC board is here: http://reprap.org/wiki/Ultimaker's_v1.5.4_PCB#Thermocouple_sensor_board

The heater is a custom cartridge heater (19V 40W), 5.92mm diameter (6mm bore), 25mm insert. a 1/4in x 1in will fit if you drill the bore. (google "cartridge heater", there are plenty of sources, I got mine from http://daltonelectric.com/cartridge-heater/index.htm (19V 50W cool tip angled leads, about $40)
