Brim not activating in 14.06.1?

Recommended Posts

For some reason, Cura won't add a brim (or a skirt) to my part. Could I have done something to cause this?

Brim is selected on the General tab, and 10 lines define in expert settings. Skirt settings are also defined to print a skirt at least 150mm long.

OK, well, I got my brim back. I think the bottom surface (edge) is too narrow for Cura to make a slice for my .8mm nozzle. I set Cura to cut off .1mm, and the brim is back.

Good enough w/o the skirt. I can use the brim to tune the height.

    • Taking Advantage of DfAM
This is a statement that’s often made about AM/3DP. I'll focus on the way DfAM can take advantage of some of the unique capabilities that AM and 3DP have to offer. I personally think that the use of AM/3DP for light-weighting is one of it’s most exciting possibilities and one that could play a key part in the sustainability of design and manufacturing in the future.
