Hey,

anybody think of doing lasercuts with ultimaker? Anybody tried? Any links?

I need some luser cut work, and ultimaker should be exact machine for that.

It could be exact enough, and looking at

it should be possible. It is however very dangerous to operate a laser without proper protection. Commercial machines use a filtering transparent panel...

Of course, you'll need glasses.

I think more about pluging laser to extruder case, then to control it same like my prints.

Thought, someone tryed it.

Didn't try it yet. But I have a 405nm 500mW laser:

Which I want to stick on it just to test to see what's possible, however, I do not have a proper lens yet.

This should do engraving, but of you want to cut anything else then paper you need a 20W gas laser, which is much more expensive and fragile.

In case of price, I'll let some watercut in my city.

But I'll consider engraving with some blue-ray laser or sth, that price level.
