Older Firmware Gcodes on newer versions?

Recommended Posts

Posted · Older Firmware Gcodes on newer versions?

I have asked Google I even searched the forums, I couldn't find an answer.

So I was wondering do older sliced models work on newer firmware.

Anything I saved a Gcode for with Cura 13 will it print with firmware 15?

I guess is the question or do I have to re-slice the STL files?

Yeah, it should work. You might want to try slicing the files in the new software though and see if you like the new ones better, quite a bit has changed since 13.

It will work. Forwards and backwards compatibility.

So you can use older Cura versions on newer firmwares, or use older firmwares on newer Cura versions without issues.
