Will there be a stainless steel nozzle for Ultimaker printers?

Hi there,

I'd love to start printing with more demanding filament like bronze-filled or wood-filled. However, after reading about clogged and worn-out nozzles, I'm a bit hesitant.

A more durable stainless steel nozzle (perhaps an additional, bigger diameter to choose from) would be a great solution.

Is there any hope to get one soon via Ultimaker?

If there are any hacks / spare parts available from other sources, please do let me know. Many thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Fran

Are you talking about the UM2 or the UMO?

For the UM2 there's the olson block that can replace the standard heat block, and make it possible to add E3D nozzles on it.

I beleive the E3D nozzles are compatible on the UMO as well (you need another fan shroud i beleive).

    E3D has stainless steel nozzles

    Cool, thanks for the tip!

I own an UMO with heated bed. Do I really need to replace the heater block to be able to use the nozzle fom E3D?

To change nozzles I guess I have to heat everything up, right? Would imagine that the plastic inside will act as glue otherwise...

    Cheers,

    Fran

I still haven't change my nozzle on the UMO, on my UM2 i have to heat up to at least 80°c to have it loosen up.

I think there was a subject somewhere about E3D nozzles on the UMO, you don't need to change the whole heater block. The thread is the same i think.

I can try to find the subject on the forum if you want

for an Ultimaker Original it is easy to adjust for wood fill printing. Just buy an extra nozzle tip and drill an 0.8 mm hole in it.
