  1. OK, here are my first two prints: a wheel and a tire in scale 1:13. The outside diameter of the part is 45 mm (the coin has Ø 20mm). Printed in PLA in 3 hours - Nozzle temp. 220C - Bed temp. 60ºC no glue - speed 50mm/s . I am very happy with the results achieved so far. Machine is working as clockwork. Celso
  2. I received my Ultimaker 2 two days ago and had some trouble to find my way, but thanks to the wonderful help from the many experts of this forum ( that have the habit to show goodwill and patience with newbies like me) I could overcome all the basic problems and started printing the first of a thousand things that I have already designed and want to see in 3D. The machine is beautiful, very sophisticated and well built and I feel that we should have videos explaining some of the basic problems that are frequently addressed by users. Anyway, just by reading the discussions and experiences exchanged in this forum I could learn a lot and start to discover how to make nice prints. thanks for the help, and let's move on! Celso
  3. Hi Aaron 1. Do you use glue to make parts stick to surface? 2. These settings you are talking about, you determine them when producing the geode or afterwards at the machine when before print starts (or even after) ? Celso
  4. Why don't you simply add a button called Upload in the toolbox above the reply area? Maybe then, beside being displayed together with the text it could also be sent automatically to one's gallery.
  5. Jonny and iluminarti 1. How can we add pictures to our comments in this forum? 2. Why when we open a gecode file in Cura it shows the sliced parts but not the parameters that created it. Shouldn't we see all the data related to the file? Celso
  6. When we specify the settings in Cura 14.03 it says that high quality is 0,06 mm. Can we really get the 0,020 mm quality? Are there design problems to achieve this level of ultra high detail? Celso
  7. Again, you gave me the clue to solve the problem. It seems that the machine does not accept accent marks used in the name of the file. Latin languages use lots of accents. In spite of Helicóide I just called the part Helicoide... and problem solved. thanks Celso
  8. Hi Markus The problem is that the file is there, but for some reason the machine says that there is no info available. If I put the card in my computer, I also see the file and can open it in Cura. Celso
  9. I opened an STL file, generated a GCode of a part and moved it to the SD Card, but when I decided to print it I got the following info: "No info available". How to fix that? When I opened the part in Cura everything worked all right. It could tell me the time to print the part etc. file:///Users/celso/Desktop/GCode%202.jpg
  10. iluminarti, you were right. With just a thin needle (Ø 0,4mm) I could unblock the nozzle and everything worked all right. I not only could print my small robot but are now printing other parts with success. Thanks for the help. The machine is amazing and the quality we can achieve is really impressive.
  11. Hi Dreamworker I understand how to remove the filament and have already done so. The question is about moving the filament again into the nozzle. Should I go to factory reset or there is another simple way to do this?
  12. In my first contact with Ultimaker 2, I already have a blocked nozzle before even printing my first small robot. The question is: To move filament through the Bowden Tube there is only the way to go to Maintenance / Advanced / Factory Reset and then level the plate till que have the option to load filament ? I am trying to follow the steps of some of you to unblock the nozzle, but explanations seem to take for granted a lot of information a newbie cannot understand. Any help is welcome Celso
  13. Iluminarti. I am really stupid not to have checked that the back screw could also be adjusted. Again there should be an information in the User Manual about that!
  14. Thanks. I did that, but still cannot move material!
  15. Hy guys Problem solved. There was a difference of 2mm because the spring was too short. I added 2 1mm washers in each side and problem is now solved. Now I will try to print my small robot. Let's see. Thanks for help. regards Celso
  16. Hi guys Thanks for the help. Problem solved. I added two washers on top of each of the front springs in order to add the 2mm that I needed and then I could level the plate correctly. The springs seemed to be too short not allowing the correct adjustment of the plate. Level now is perfect...Will try the first print
  17. Hi guys I'm an absolute newbie and just got my Ultimaker 2 sent to my office in Rio. I would like to call your attention to some small problems with its beautiful User Manual: 1. I followed every step indicated in the order they appear in the manual, and all of a sudden I observed in page 17 that we would start leveling the build plate but nothing was said about the glass. 2. I then positioned the glass and kept on reading. Just when I had some problem leveling the plate and I went to Maintenance in page 33, I discovered how to correctly assemble the glass plate. Of course I didn't take the recommended steps because they were not displayed in the right point of the explanation. So, pls. before page 17 inform how to correctly install the glass plate. 3. When I was leveling the plate, one of the screws (the front right one) was totally unscrewed and even then I couldn't level the plate. What should I do? 4. I observed that there is no stop button. In a determined moment when I wanted to go back to leveling I realized the I couldn't. I had to turn off the machine and then start everything again. What am I doing wrong? regards Newbie from burning hot Rio Celso
