  1. Thanks for checking back. For no obvious reason, nor any effort on my part, my install of Cura now imports 3mf files with zero issues. Go figure.
  2. In Cura 5.2.1, there is no Extensions >Startup Optimizer.
  3. I updated from Cura four dot somethin somethin to five dot two dot one somethin somethin. Now Cura does not recognize 3mf files. 3mf is not listed among recognized file types within the Open Files dialog box. When I force Cura to open a 3mf file, it gacks up the message "Invalid File: Cannot open files of file type of" (sic). WTF, boys?
  4. Healed! Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. As you suspected, the model was not watertight. I still don't understand the shading in Cura that represents the BPA setting; and, why Cura shades the center of the ring regardless of the BPA setting.
  5. Cura 4.13 Possible bug found: Cura thinks a model has a bottom where none actually exists. Attempting to print a 134mm ring-shaped object (image below)--the ring is open. Brim is enabled under Build Plate Adhesion (BPA). Model imported into Cura as either OBJ and STL. Before slicing, Cura shades area on the virtual build-plate that fills the ring--this is non-representative of actual BPA setting. Additionally, Cura does not display shade area to represent a brim along the outside of the ring (see image below). Instead, Cura shades around the perimeter of the build plate. Why. After slicing, Cura displays the area inside the ring in yellow (as shown in the image below). Yellow represents top/bottom, yet this object has no material where Cura shows yellow. My printer subsequently prints material into this area (along with a brim) that is thicker than a brim but thinner than a raft. Why. What setting might be causing Cura to override the BPA setting and think this model has material where none exists? Or, is this a bug.
  6. UPDATE Cura v4.11 includes Longer LK4 Pro printer preset.
  7. Longer LK4 Pro (amzn.com/B08JPRL5BJ) HATCHBOX PLA (amzn.com/B00J0ECR5I) Fusion360 and Cura v4.11 Each time I print the object below--70 x 32 x 8mm block with a few channels--the thing comes out warped on the plate side as shown in the images. I've generated plenty of objects with this printer using Cura as my slicer with zero issues. I've never experienced this problem before. From within Cura, I lowered/raised printer's plate temp; I increased/decreased Quality/Infill settings; I moved the print location on the plate--same result every time. I'm stumped. This is the extent of my troubleshooting knowledge diddling with Cura settings, and now I reach out out for suggestions leading to a solution.
  8. Cura v4.11.0 I switched the interface to dark mode. The models appear as grey indistinguishable shapes. I'm certain there's a way to change the color of models; though try as I might, I cannot find this setting within Preferences. Where do I find the "model color" (or similar) setting?
  9. Thanks for the info. I intended to post the profile suggestion to Longer3D's user community forum, but they've deleted the sub-forums and shut down posting with no further notice... likely due to it's inundation with fake posts and spam.
  10. Longer LK4 Pro with Cura v4.11 Cura displays Unable to slice warning after I click Slice, advising that the model is outside the printable area of the printer. Longer LK4 Pro printable area (aka, "build volume") is 220 x 220 x 250 mm. My model is 216 x 152 x 76, clearly within limits of the printer. The printer profile within Cura shows the correct dimensions for this printer. It's as my model is tripping some kind of "printing safety buffer" or similar. How do I override whatever is inducing this error and force Cura to slice?
  11. Elder Linssen mentions in the Ultimaker Cura 4.9 -- New features summarized video that "We've added many new third-party 3D printers." As of the date of this post Longer3D makes over a dozen printer models, the majority of which have been on the market as long as Cura has been available for download! Why does the latest build of Cura (v4.9) still not include printer profiles for any Longer3D products?
