Starting at certain point each layer

Hi,

I'm testing with different sizes of nozzle for faster printing. I'm now busy testing with an 1.1mm nozzle and it works kind off good. The only thing, as you can see on the photo, is the switch to the next layer. I want all those points on the small side as on the right photo. It's a puzzle so you wont see that side. Are there any plugins for this? Or does anyone know how to fix it.

Try setting the shell width to 2.2 (and nozzle to 1.1) and I think that might help quite a bit. Also why not print the part flat with the visible side flat on the glass so it looks great?

I've already tried those settings but it won't help. And we want the the structure to be visible and not all the parts are flat;) Any other suggestions??

I seem to remember reading that one of the recent Cura versions was supposed to look for the sharpest 'concave' corner and put the dimple there. If anyone else could confirm this, then one way would be to create a tiny corner running from top to bottom on the back face of the part.

It's just an untested theory, but might work :c)

Try printing much slower - try 30mm/sec or even 20mm/sec. As you approach the "jerk" speed (20mm/sec) you will sometimes get less "errors" like this. I would set the speed to maybe 100mm/sec and then set the speed percentage in the tune menu to various values from 20mm/sec to 40mm/sec and document where on the print you are to see what speeds do what and cancel the print if it's no better at 20mm/sec.

This little mark is where it goes from the outer layer shell to the inner shell. There is an older version of cura that you can try that always puts the "scar" in the back left corner so you in that version you could rotate the part as needed to put the scar wherever you wanted.

Thanks. Do you know where i can get the older version of Cura?

It would be perfect if it puts the scar always on the left corner.

I'm printing on 40mm/sec and the percentage on 60%. I will try some different combinations!

FYI, Cura version numbers are actually "year.month".
