How can I unclip the belts?
Thank you.
You need to remove the shafts to remove the belts as the belts are a continuous circle.
To do that you need to loosen the pulleys at either side of the shaft. Then slide the shaft out. You do this for the shafts on both sides of the belt.
You could also check the UM2 assembly manual and reverse the steps.

Edited by GuestSame problem here. I just acquired an old UM2 Extended with a total of 2km of filament printer. Although it homes correctly, when moving the print heat by hand (with it turned off) the movement in the Y axis jams in two specific point, really hard. Visually I just can't point nothing wrong that could be a reason for it.
Any hints or clues? Thank you.

It was rustted.
I'm having the same problem. What was rusted?
(w power off) I'm only able to freely move print head on x axis rod. My y movement gets stuck in two specific spots.
The stepper motor bearing. I ordered the same product number from Pololu but the shaft has a different size (don’t know why). Then I opened the stepper motors and swapped the bearings.

I hope you can understand all this...
Un-clip the x/y rails out of the black Belt/rod holders and remove the head assembly.
Make sure the rods slide easy in the bearings in the head.
I'm guessing the Bushes in the main guides have gunk in them and needs cleaning out. For this you will need to slide the black holders and find which one is jammed. Undo the pulleys on that axis, Put some sewing machine oil on that rod and try to pull it out. It may be really hard to slide the holder off but you need to get it off.
After you get it off you need to clean all axis with a cloth wet with sewing machine oil till all the black gunk is gone.
Also clean inside the bush that was jammed. Run the rod in and out and keep cleaning.
Put back together and move head around and give another wipe.
You need to lube the axis with sewing machine oil on a regular basis.
