Now material coming out

Hi all,

Ive only been running the Ultimaker 2 for a week, and have come across my first problem.

No material is coming out of the nozzle, even though i have a roll of PLA fitted and used the same roll earlier in the week with no probs. I alredy tried the Atomic Method but it isn't working.

Can someone help me

Can you describe your routine at start up?

Did you remove the filament and inspected it? are there holes in the filament and does it have a regular toothmarks pattern?

Does the filament go the nozzle all the way when inserting?

Most likely a feed problem. Sometimes the filament gets stuck in the PTFE coupler and won't push down into the heated nozzle. As your machine is new it isn't likely to be the nozzle blocked.

Really difficult to explain without hands on the machine

Try doing a 'Change material' from the menu. That should remove the filament, then you can cut the end off and try inserting again. It may be that the tip of the filament is too large to go into the coupler.
