Have you made sure that you've selected the correct machine in the settings in cura?
I haven't heard of this error message before so I'm wondering if that's a new check implemented in 15.04.5 and it's choking on the firmware you tried to install from github. You could try using an older version of cura and see if that works (you can have several versions of cura installed at once).
