Hi all,

I tried to print this item: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nw64f6lzbdkoikk/LinaFullStar1_3.stl

It is a fairly small item with very high detail on the top layer and so far I couldn't get the desired results.

I used blue PLA and Cura 12.11 with various settings. I got the best results with the following settings, but its not even close to the quality needed to recognize the face on top:

Layer Height: 0.05

Wall Thickness 0.8

Bottom/Top Thickness: 0.3

Fill density: 20%

Speed: 50

Temperature: 230

Retraction is activated with Cura's default settings.

Cura finds some model errors but seems to be able to correct them.

Which software/firmware combination would you recommend for such an item and what settings would you use?

Thanks in advance.

Those details are simply way too small for the relatively large 0.4 nozzle to produce. You might have better luck standing the model on its side to take advantage of the much better resolution of the z-axis. But that's still a lot of small detail in a very small area.
