Cutting STL Files in Half

So i have this little Problem with a File, a Cortana Chip from HALO4.

I printed it one time already, but the Surface with the Support came out not as good as the top.

Is there a Way to cut a STL File in Half, so i can print both of it and then glue it together?

You can use Meshmixer (free) and the option "plane cut"

from 0:40

Another way is to drop it through platform in Cura. It will only print the part that is above the platform.

Then remember that value, flip the part and drop it the total height - the remembered value.

And if you are on win10 the 3d builder app has a similar option and works quite well.

I have been using Meshmixer for Mac for years 🙂
