When I got mine I had some issues with getting filament out the nozzle as well. In my case I was not aware the feeder was grinding to the point it could not feed the filament into the tube. Make sure yours is not grinding in the feeder.
@avluis, My nozzle on the outside is always clean, for whatever reason it is clog on the inside. Thanks for the link! I'll give it a try once I find some time(busy with a project for a client).
@Zwakie, how do you adjust the tension on the feeder? Mines seem to be okay, it's alot less grinding than the one in this photo: https://d3v5bfco3dani2.cloudfront.net/photo/image/0x0/57ffa429dfe28/04%20PLA%20met%20tangetje%20vasthouden%20en%20in%20printkop%20duwen_3.jpg
@ultairjan, yes I did the first time I insert the 2 filaments that came with the printer, though the tension was too much it won't even go up the feeder.

In the user manual on p. 37 you see a foto at the bottom. On this foto you can see a recessed 'lever' just above the big lever that released the feeder. With this recessed lever you can adjust the friction.
so the lever on the side can be adjusted by using the screwdriver that has been supplied with your UM3 on the top screw of the feeder. a good indication is having the tension in the middle.
thanks for tip about the tension adjustment! reading more of the manual now. And I manage to get the nozzle unclog it was very easy Doing some new prints now.

In regards to unclogging the nozzles -- have you read the Ultimaker 3 online manual? Here is a portion on regards to cleaning.
And here is some info on maintaining the BB core, which parts of can apply to other cores as well.
