Hi all, new to 3D printing. I installed Cura 2.50 64 bit on Windows 10, selected everything during install and it won't start. There's no splash screen or anything. I deleted the cura folder and also tried renaming it to cura.bak, but the results are the same. Any advice would be appreciated, happy to upload any files that might be useful in troubleshooting.

Thanks!

Was this your first install ever of Cura or did you already have an older version installed?

Thanks for the reply. First ever. Just bought a machine so I know I've never installed it before.

Can you locate the file C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\cura\cura.log and post it somewhere (eg pastebin.com)?

Are you on a laptop with multiple GPU? Make a desktop Icon and right click on it. Do you have an option that says "Run with graphics processor" ?

Thanks for trying to help all. I installed Cura 15 instead and that worked, went back and tried 2.50 and it worked. I'm guessing one of the dependencies didn't install correctly with 2.50 but did with 15. Thanks!

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
