3mf Surface Color

I was under the impression that the 3mf file type stored information about color/appearance... When I create a part in Solidworks, I am aware of the fact that I can create a part with multiple bodies which I can then separate in Cura. However, I was wondering if it is possible for Cura to read in the surface color of faces as designated in Solidworks and assign a secondary extruder for those faces.

To be more specific, I would like to use the compare documents function from Solidworks, which then gives me all of the different surfaces colored in red, which I would like to pass along to Cura - to print those faces in a secondary color on my UM3E.

The easiest solution would be through Cura if it's available, because creating new solid bodies from the colored faces can be quite tedious.

Although that surface color is set by 3mf, it's hard to actually do something with surface information with FFF printing. This is mostly because a surface is infinitely thin and we need actual volume in order to switch between extruders. You can't simply print a so-called "ideal" line.

So if you want certain parts to be print with a separate extruder, export them as separate volumes.
