UM3 Won’t Turn On

So after a mega failed print and a jammed core my printer will no longer turn on. I found it with the display off and i could hear a ticking but I didn’t know where it was coming from. When i turned the power off and back on the tick went away but the printer would not come back on. I’m going to check the plug and power supply first but does anyone have an idea on what i should do?

Was the ticking from the power supply?  I'm guessing it was turning power on and off because there is a short somewhere.  So it would power off.  Then it would try again.  And again.  Each time the short was still there.  I guess you can't tell now.

I'd start by disconnecting the cable at the print head as there may be a short inside there somewhere.

The printer powered on after removing the head cable. Well I’m not sure what to do now. I was using only one core at the time but the second one is stuck in there too.

It won't.  The S5 has larger rods and bearings so the bearings and rods won't fit.  Also the head is a little wider (to make room for one of the wider rods).  So you will have a smaller print area.

How much does a Um3 head cost by the way?  Contact fbrc8.com as they manufacture the heads so they always have plenty in stock, lol.

If you get all that plastic off the short might go away. It's probably one or both cores pushed over to the side and shorting some contacts.

I emailed fbrc8 and I’m waiting for a response. They do have a whole head with cable on their store listed for $408. The left core is the only one shorted. I may give it another try to remove all the NylonX but I just don’t have that much time right now.
