Cura 3.6 doesn't import my printer settings or profiles.

I have the same problem with Cura 3.6 as I did with 3.5.0 and 3.5.1. It doesn't import any settings or profiles from Cura 3.4.1

 

I have posted on here (three times now) for the previous version, but no one seemed interested in solving my problem. Every person that has shown some interest, just asks for my log file and then never responds again ever...  So here is the log file, again.

That's because in your case, there is nothing in the logs indicating that something went wrong. Could you share your 3.4 configuration folder?

Can no one figure out this problem? I first posted about this October 3rd (Cura 3.5.0). Two months... I don't think it's that complex a problem.

As far as I can see from the data you shared, there isn't anything going wrong. So, unfortunately, it is that complex of a problem.

OK, that's fine. but what bothered me until now is that no one said anything about what's going on. Just radio silence, for two months. 

 

Is there any other way to transfer the settings? Like an import function.

Normally it should do this automatically from one version to another. For some reason, this didn't happen on your system. You could try deleting the 3.6 folder and see if re-triggering it works.

I have had this same problem over the last few versions of Cura as well, so: Bump!

I did what you asked. It didn't work.

 

I would have been surprised if it did work this time, as I was asked to do the same for version 3.5.0 and 3.5.1.

Well, i've tried it on Fedora, where it does work.

Could you try if putting the files from the attached zip in the config folder works?

Sorry for the Delay. With Christmas coming up, I have been busy.

 

I loaded the config folder up, and it looks good so far. I look forward to checking out the improvements since 3.4.1.  Thank you.

FWIW, I had this issue for the longest time. Today I upgraded to 3.6.0 and it would appear that all settings, profiles and everything transferred over exactly like it should. First time in many releases. I was a VERY happy camper !
