paul had me introduced to alibre, but the engine is so so terrible that making something complex is borderline crashing it... all those engine parts they show in the demos? pure miracle that they got them working.

now that 3dsystems bought them and rebranded them to geomagic, I don't see how alibre will ever be improved.

Agreed. I bought Geomagic Design (Alibre) a couple months ago because it was affordable compared to many other options, and it appeared to be robust. Going through their tutorials instilled confidence in me... it appeared Geomagic would let me create whatever I'd need. Then I started getting a little more competent at 3D design, so my drawings started getting more complex. That's when the frequent crashes began. Oh well, now I save often.

There are some limited parametric features in designspark.

Is it possible to define certain parameters for a group of features? For example, when modeling a box with multiple standoffs, I want the standoff height and hole diameter to be constant, but the standoffs may differ in how they attach to the box inner wall. So the standoffs are not exactly the same, but they share some features. I am not an expert in CAD modeling, but my understanding is, it is easy with parametric modeler. It is certainly trivial with OpenSCAD.

I understand I may select multiple features in DSM and then drag them at once, but this is cumbersome.

    Thanks, Vojtech
