Why when i decrease the diameter of filament the print speed slow down?

I try to work with different diameter of filament and i see that when the diameter is minor the print speed decreases. Is there an answer?

The extruder should speed up and the X,Y speeds should stay the same.  How are you changing diameter setting?  In filament settings?

I'm changing diameter setting in Material---Diameter.

I try some diameters like 2,85-1,75-1,00-0,5 and the print time increases a lot when the diameter is lower.

i don't work with ABS or PLA but with food material.
