Hello, there are a missing feature basical to avoid warping with ABS, multiple layers of brim option, other slicers can do it but Cura with "thousand" of options no, please, add this feature, with 4 or 5 layers of brim and ABS warping gone totally with Big pieces.

Thank you.

You can use a raft instead of the one layer brim.

Thank your for your response but I like brim because the contact of the piece with crystal give bettter resolution of the base.

Maybe you could design it in the CAD file, like I often do for custom supports in hard-to-access areas? Then you can give it all the features you want.

Question: how do you remove such a thick brim? Isn't that too hard to cut with a knife?

I also think this would be a really useful addition and probably won't be very hard to implement (just an uneducated guess).

"A bit" more complex but probably also more effective would be to increase brim thickness (and width) only on corners of the model; with an adjustable angle that determines which corners will be super-brimmed™. Similar to mouse ears but kind of semi conical radiating away from the corners. Hard to describe but I hope everyone gets the picture.

      • S-Line Firmware 8.3.0 was released Nov. 20th on the "Latest" firmware branch.
(Sorry, was out of office when this released)

        This update is for...
        All UltiMaker S series
        New features

Temperature status. During print preparation, the temperatures of the print cores and build plate will be shown on the display. This gives a better indication of the progress and remaining wait time. Save log files in paused state. It is now possible to save the printer's log files to USB if the currently active print job is paused. Previously, the Dump logs to USB option was only enabled if the printer was in idle state. Confirm print removal via Digital Factory. If the printer is connected to the Digital Factory, it is now possible to confirm the removal of a previous print job via the Digital Factory interface. This is useful in situations where the build plate is clear, but the operator forgot to select Confirm removal on the printer’s display. Visit this page for more information about this feature.
