Posted · Ultimaker Cura 3.6.0 crashes on large file splice

Hello all, 

 

Although I am running a 2600X CPU, my computer maxes out at 100% load and then crashes when trying to open high detail files at large sizes, such as Medieval Castle by Boldmachines on Thingiverse. I have attached the log below. Is there a way to fix this, maybe throttling Cura's splicing program to 50% max output?
