SMB Share Cura 4.0 Linux Mint

Recommended Posts

Posted · SMB Share Cura 4.0 Linux Mint

Greetings!

Maybe a dumb question, but here goes....

I'm running Cura 4.0 on Linux Mint. My STL files are stored on a server. The open files dialogue in Cura does not give access to anything other than local files. There is no way I can see that allows me access to an SMB share on a server?

Any help appreciated.

Paul

We're using the default file dialog as provided by your operating system. So if that dialog can't do it, there is little we can do to change that.

Perhaps making a set of links (shortcuts) in a folder that you can reach with the dialog is a viable workaround.

You have to mount the smb share, then you can access it.

This is not special for Cura, but with Linux you always have to mount a remote share to access the files. If you use usually a GUI, then the GUI mounts it for you in the background.
