When I turn my file into a G-code it only prints the first layer.

I am using Cura to get my prints ready for printing. I have an Ender-3 and can only print g-codes, so I convert the print (that has already gone through Cura) into a g-code, and my printer only prints the first layer of the print. I tried turning it into a g-code and then looking at the print in Cura and in Cura the print is only the first layer also. What is wrong? How can I convert my prints into a g-code and keep them the way they were before I converted them to g-code? Please help.

Cura outputs gcode.  Not sure how you are converting.  On the bottom right is the button to slice it, then the same button can be used to output the gcode.
