And by this, @burtoogle means that as long as the firmware accepts X & Y coordinates ("cartesian") and does the inverse kinematics calculation for your scara setup, it should work with Cura. Cura will not do the actual motion conversion for you.

 

SCARA printers often have a non-rectangular buildvolume. That will be a bit of work to fully support in Cura.
