Hello daid and others who can help me,

I am working in the CuraEngine source code ,and i find it is hard to understand your code with limited help,is there any help document for detail except ”readme “?

Thank you for your reply.Here is another problem.

Is there any possible that I write a program based on the curaEngine without pay much attention to the your code ? That is I just see curaEngine as a lib,and I use it with my software ui,like the using of clipper in your program.

If you do that I suspect you need to publish the source code also with the same license. Is that okay for you or are you working for Makrbot and need everything closed source?

Firstly,I am a student and just want to do some job in 3d print ,not just focus on the using of finished software.What I really interested in is the algorithm behind it.

That's pretty much what the Cura GUI does, it calls the engine as a stand alone thing.

But, even as a student, you have to be aware of the license. As it can conflict with your university "contract", it's not uncommon for universities to have some "everything you make for the university is property of the university" clause somewhere.

AGPL is there to protect the users from lockin, it's good to know what it means for you as a developer.

Actually, almost all universities have such a clause, especially when you are working on a thesis.
