Add material in Ultimaker Cura

Dear All, 

This is my firts post in this community.

I am working with Cura 4.6 and I cannot load a Material or even create a material. I know there are some buttons that you can create or activate a material but for some reason these buttons are deactivated and it doesnt allows me to click on them.

Find in the picture attached. How can I activate these buttons (red circle) or how can I add a material?

That is because you have an Ultimaker 2. With the UM2, the idea is that you select the material on the printer, not in Cura.

 

If you want Cura to override what material is selected on the printer, and thus select materials in Cura, go to the Printers pane of the preferences, press Machine Settings, and change the G-Code flavor to Marlin (instead of Ultimaker 2).
