Help with tree supports in Cura 4.6.0 that keep ending up as spaghetti monster

Hello,

To get specifications out of the way. Ender 3 Pro, Cura 4.6.0, aluminum extruder upgrade, SKR e3 mini.

I got the brim fixed so that it prints correctly but now each time I try to print the back support ends up failing early on and becomes a spaghetti monster.

Tiny tree supports that I am not sure how to reinforce or strengthen.

From the layer view I can see that the connecting part is very small and thin so I am not sure if my printer needs to be slowed down. I recently installed an SKR e3 mini and had to force some speed updates in the EEPROM because it was moving way to fast and ruining every print. Settings got stuck somehow in the EEPROM so I had to reset it, so a problem could be potentially stemming from there. I am not sure if I need to limit it more so in Cura or in the firmware. I used stock speed maximums for the Ender 3.

The dreaded spaghetti monster. Clearly failing at those three small points, I am assuming because they are too small or perhaps the printer is moving too fast when pulling away and yanks the layer with it?

I have attached all of my settings that have been changed from the stock Cura settings in the imgur link below. I have also put in more pictures of the failed print. If you need anything else please let me know. Prints not using tree supports print fine so it is not a mechanical issue I believe.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. :) Or if anyone wants to share their settings for tree supports that would be great. I based mine off of a quasi guide on reddit that seemed to work well for people.

    Update:

Looking closer at the layer view it seems like there is a large gap that is causing the print to try and print in the air. Is there a setting that I need to adjust to correct this gap?

The air gap is a setting in Cura called "Support Z Distance". It won't help you though because those tiny supports won't be able to handle the large structures you're trying to print on top of them. You should add the "manual supports" plugin and build a more robust support system for that area.
